Players will unleash the power of Goku Black Rose to devastate their opponents in DRAGON BALL FighterZ. Without spoiling too much from the saga if you haven't caught up yet, Goku Black is connected to the green-skinned Supreme Kai apprentice Zamasu, but that much can be seen from the Dragon Ball FighterZ trailer. Fans were excited to learn that the game would have strong similarities to the early installments of the fan-favorite Marvel vs. Capcom franchise by utilizing a 3 vs. 3 tag system. Dragon Ball FighterZ uses a 2.5D animation art style, meaning that, while characters are rendered in a 3D environment, they feature the traditional and iconic Dragon Ball anime art style.

While the character trailer is quite short, we do get a brief look at many of Goku Black's powerful and flashy moves. Goku Black goes into battle with his signature energy blade, giving the villain a little more reach than if he just used his fists. We see him lashing out at Trunks with both a sword and a scythe. He then kicks off the battle by going Super Saiyan Rose and proceeds to absolutely wreck poor Trunks.

A welcomed inclusion are a variety of characters who would be considered relatively low-level fighters by today's standards.

A lookalike to Dragon Ball Super's protagonist Goku, Goku Black has several black and rose-tinted variations of Goku's abilities.

Though Goku Black may appear to be evil clone of Goku, he is actually a villain from a future timeline who stole Goku's body for evil purposes.

Dragon Ball FighterZ launches on January 26 for the Xbox One, the Playstation 4, and the PC via Steam.
