Raheem Sterling Reportedly Kicked, Called Racial Slurs by Man at Training Base

The Englishman has scored nine goals and provided five assists in the league this season

Raheem Sterling was allegedly subject to racial abuse and physically attacked on Saturday morning as Manchester City players prepared for their game against Tottenham, James Ducker of the Telegraph reports.

Sterling did not appear to be injured in the match, according to Ducker, and he scored two goals in a 4-1 Man City win.

CCTV footage of the incident reportedly exists, and the attacker was not someone known to the 23-year-old.

Sources told The Telegraph that the 23-year-old had arrived in his auto when he was confronted by a volley of abuse, reports The Daily Mail.

Man United's Jose Mourinho concerned over WBA time wasting
A win over their city rivals last week would have narrowed the gap to five points, but the game ended 2-1 in City's favour.

The incident is said to have happened when Sterling arrived at the club to prepare for the Premier League fixture.

Telegraph Sport understands that Sterling got out of his auto to ask what the problem was only for the man to react by reputedly kicking the City player in the leg.

It is not yet clear if the club have made a decision to report the incident to Greater Manchester Police, although it is saisd that the incident was caught on CCTV.

The England global scored twice as the league leaders comfortably beat Mauricio Pochettino's side.
