Susan Collins Says She's Not a Definitive 'Yes' On Taxes

Susan Collins of ME says she would consider removing her support from GOP tax plans, saying in an interview she could change her vote if her proposed amendments don't make it in the final version.

Collins was one of the three Republican holdouts who killed the repeal of Obamacare over the summer, but was much more enthusiastic about the prospect of tax cuts - the Republican raison d'être - from the beginning.

"Getting closer and closer on the Tax Cut Bill".

The bill would lower the rate to as low as 20 percent, which Republican leaders say would encourage USA companies to invest more and boost economic growth.

Collins' vote was important since the Senate approved the bill by 51-49 vote after an 11th-hour scramble. It comes as House and Senate negotiators are working to iron out differences in the versions of the bill passed in their respective chambers, with the goal of having the legislation on Trump's desk for a signature before year-end.

Neymar would win Ballon d'Or with Real: Perez
Perez made it clear that he won't rush signing Kylian Mbappé, the young talent who joined PSG last summer from Monaco. Meanwhile, expressing delight on securing the Ballon d'Or for the fifth time, Ronaldo said, "Of course, I feel happy.

"If the allegations are known prior to the election, which they weren't in the case of Al Franken, for example, then we have a very tough decision to make about whether it's our role as senators to overturn the will of the people", Collins told CBS' "Face the Nation".

If Collins and Corker vote against the final tax bill, leading to a 50-50 tie, Republican Vice President Mike Pence would cast the winning vote.

"I'm disappointed that the RNC has resumed its support of Roy Moore", Collins said. But if more than two Republican senators vote no, it would fail. Speculation that the House might pass the Senate bill as-is faded last week, in part because the Senate's frenzied, last-minute writing of the bill led to some glaring mistakes that will need to be mended.

"I have read in correspondence that memorializes the agreement that the 4 percent cut in Medicare that could go into effect will not go into effect", she said.

President Trump and sitting GOP senators had supported Moore's primary opponent, Sen. "I've never watched a president so engaged", he said.
