AIG Headquarters Ashraf Noor martyred in Peshawar blast

AIG Ashraf Noor belongs to Gilgit Baltistan and joined the police force in 1989.

The blast was so powerful that the windowpanes of the passing vehicles also broke and the nearby trees caught fire.

Having become the prime target of terrorists, the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) personnel continue to tender sacrifices as one more suicide attack took the lives of Additional Inspector General (AIG) Headquarters Muhammad Ashraf Noor along with two other people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Capital on Friday morning.

Local police official Zaman Khan said three others were wounded in the explosion, which sent a plume of dark smoke rising above Peshawar's Hayatabad area. The blast may have been suicide blast, police sources said.

The CCPO confirmed the death of the AIG and added that at least six policemen were injured and shifted to the Hayatabad Medical Complex.
