Tommy Fleetwood stays calm ahead of final-day Race to Dubai showdown

Justin Rose

Just two shots separated Britons Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood after both players posted near-perfect third-round 65s on Saturday to set up a final-day shootout in the Race to Dubai. His leading rival for the Race to Dubai title, Tommy Fleetwood, is only two shots behind here after a second straight 65 on the Earth course of Jumeirah Golf Estates.

Rose leads the tournament and the projected Race to Dubai standings with just one round of the season remaining, but Fleetwood is just two strokes off the pace after recovering from a slow start to card a second, successive 65.

Indeed, Rose was 256,000 points behind coming into this week, but, although the permutations were and still are devilishly complex, Rose made it an easy challenge for himself, even brushing away the notion that he should Fleetwood fail to triumph then solo second will do him. Achieving that feat would also mark the first time in his career Rose has won three titles on the bounce, having been victorious in his last two outings in China and Turkey.

"Above all, whether I win it or not, or whether Justin wins it, one of us will have deserved it", said Fleetwood.

U.S. Masters champion Sergio Garcia, the only other player with a chance to win the Race to Dubai title, is tied for 13th on 10 under after a 67. But with his short game in superb condition, the reigning Olympic champion made a hard up-and-down shot to stay ahead. That broke about 18 inches right-to-left downhill. "It's brilliant, isn't it. Makes me smile".

"There's a hunger and motivation there", Rose said.

Clinton: There are 'lots of questions' about legitimacy of Trump's election
Trump's tweets were likely a response to a Mother Jones interview with Clinton that dropped Friday. Clinton never visited Wisconsin during the general election and lost the state to Mr.

"I made bad decisions, hit lazy shots and I think I was really exhausted out there and need to go back and have a rest and get out there tomorrow".

"I know what I need to do to stay at the top of the leaderboard", said Rose. A couple sloppy pars on the par 5s, and a bad tee shot on fifth and I was 1-over through seven on a day where scoring has been really good.

"It's not going to be the kind of day like ten years ago when I had a big lead and I was just trying to hang on".

Shane hit five birdies and just a single bogey during his round on Saturday morning, finishing the day on nine under par for the tournament.

"I just got on a really good streak, and when I holed the putts on nine and 10, I felt the momentum swinging a little bit and I hit it really good down the stretch".
