Robbers Dig in Tunnel Into Bank, Loot 27 Lockers

In a bank robbery reminiscent of a 90's Bollywood heist film, a group of expert thieves dug a 25-feet tunnel to reach the lockers of a bank in Navi Mumbai and fled with valuables worth crores.

The tunnel entrance in the shop had a circumference of about three feet, and was around five feet deep. "The thieves had conducted a proper recce and after finding the bank shut over the weekend, they entered the bank and took away the jewelry and cash kept in the lockers", the police officer said. A 40-foot-long tunnel is suspected to have been dug by the accused."We have got clues about the accused and our teams are working on them", Assistant police inspector (Turbhe division) Mr , As Reported By Hindu.

The police officer said there are 225 lockers are there in the bank, out of which 30 were found empty. The police are yet to evaluate the total worth of the stolen goods, according to Commissioner of Police Hemant Nagrale. The Bank officials were shocked to open the bank only to find the robbery that already happened on Sunday.
