Arsene Wenger drops hint over his next job after Arsenal

Arsene Wenger

However, Arsene Wenger reportedly still harbours ambitions of bringing the 22-year-old to the Emirates.

But could Le Professeur be tempted with a move into global football, once his days at the Emirates come to an end?

In a sit-down interview with beIN Sports, Wenger played down City's ability at home while missing his chance to apologise to Raheem Sterling and instead shifting his perspective on Sterling's so-called dive.

When asked about the possibility of moving into global management, Wenger told beIn Sports: "Maybe yes I will do it at some stage but until now I like to be involved every day in the life of a club because the real test is there".

"The real test is there".

The Frenchman has always been linked with the Les Bleus national team job while England have considered him on more than one occasion. Four or five weeks [at a tournament] is a different experience, it is more concentrated.

And he's still very much enjoying life in club management. "I am 35 years in this job [as a football manager]".

Hes clearly loving it still...

"I haven't decided that, to me it's just a fact that my life is linked with football".

The Frenchman added: "Yes of course [I'd be tempted] because my life is linked with football and, depending on my physical state, I will [always] be in football".

And when asked if he would be in the dug-out at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Wenger was particularly coy on the subject.

"Look at their schedule and look at how many will go to the World Cup, then you have the answer [to why they can not do their "homework"]".

You've heard it here first.
