Massa says goodbye to Interlagos with 'perfect race'

Williams driver Felipe Massa of Brazil attends a press conference ahead of Sunday's Formula One Brazilian Grand Prix at the Interlagos racetrack in Sao Paulo Brazil Thursday Nov. 9 2017

Alonso was frustrated in his race-long battle to pass Felipe Massa at Interlagos for seventh place, spending the entire race tucked up behind the Brazilian's Williams but unable to pass his Mercedes-powered rival due to the lack of straightline speed from McLaren's Honda engines. I knew the re-start could be the only chance to overtake Alonso.

"Renault is the best engine company in the past 15 or 20 years if you see all the world championships so l don't think we should be too anxious", he said. "Maybe in the future I would love to return to a better and safer country", he added.

"It's so hard to explain my feelings today", he added.

"Last year I had such incredible emotion, walking through the pit lane, but I was missing the result". I had a very good last few corners and I could see when we pulled out of the last corner that he was quite far away.

"I managed to pass him on the re-start, but after that it was so hard".

After the race, Raikkonen expressed his frustration with the difficulty of following cars ahead on-track with the high-downforce 2017-spec cars, preventing him from getting close to Bottas and trying to complete a one-two finish for Ferrari as teammate Sebastian Vettel took his fifth win of the year.

Japanese PM Shinzo Abe takes a tumble on a golf course
Japan's TV Tokyo identified 63-year-old Abe as the golf player in the above video, playing out of a steep bunker. Slipping and falling backwards, the Prime Minister quickly scampers to his feet.

"We race in Mexico, we've raced in India, and I don't know if it's any more risky than there", he said. I drove a ideal race from beginning to end, managed the tyres, managed everything around the vehicle, the pace I had. "It is a race I will never forget".

"Last year, I had so much love and emotion from the people, but I didn't finish the race like I wanted. It was a good end but I wanted more".

"So I think today was definitely like a victory for me".

"For sure I will miss all of you guys".

"We're very unlikely to make a decision in short order", Lowe, who joined from champions Mercedes earlier in the year, told reporters.
