At least 34 Islamic State suspects detained in Istanbul

According to the interior ministry around 450 suspects were detained accused of helping or being in contact with IS in October

The police reportedly carried out raids at 240 different addresses in Ankara and confiscated digital and other material belonging to the IS group, reports Xinhua news agency. Investigators say the suspects meant to travel to Syria shortly.

The arrests were made in several districts of Istanbul.

Only the Prosecutor's office of Turkey has issued 245 the arrest warrants.

According to the Turkish Justice Ministry, at least 780 people, including 350 foreigners, remain in detention, some of whom have been convicted, for suspected links to the IS group. Eleven more foreign nationals were arrested in the southern province of Adana and seven Turkish nationals were arrested in the western province of Izmir.
