O'Sullivan asks fan who ran round snooker table to pot black

He has now been told he must not wear trainers for his second round clash with Mark Davis

There were remarkable scenes earlier in the day as O'Sullivan's match against Yong ended with a woman from the crowd getting past security and onto the table.

Ronnie O'Sullivan's English Open showdown with outsider Zhang Yong ended in freaky fashion when he let an invader attempt to pot the black ball.

Just as Ronnie was sewing up the match to book his place in the last 16, a pesky pitch/table invader dodged the security and made her way down to the playing area.

Then, much to the surprise of the woman, aka "yer ma", and all of the fans in attendance, O'Sullivan handed her his cue and let her attempt to pot the black.

"I didn't know what to do at first and she just said, "I'm just having a jog, I'm just going for a jog", O'Sullivan told Eurosport.

Shakespeare: Leicester will ´pull away´ from Premier League danger
Dyche is thought to figure on Leicester's shortlist as a potential replacement for Shakespeare and he attempted to play down the link on Thursday.

Unfortunately she missed, twice, and the match was give to O'Sullivan anyway, but the odd scenes will go down as one of the weirdest fan invasions in sports history.

"And I was like, 'Go on then, carry on then, there's your jog, have a shot as well while you're at it'".

The referee attempted to usher her away as O'Sullivan found himself with just the black ball to sink, but the snooker legend wouldn't have any of it. And you might as well have a shot while you're at it'.

I really wanted her to pot it.

The game's governing body allowed O'Sullivan to wear trainers again, saying he would be exempt from "standard dress code protocol" in order to "help manage the effects of an ankle injury".
