At least 6 killed, 10 injured in Quetta blast

Security forces have cordoned off the area. The nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained but the officials suspect that the explosion was aimed at the police vehicle.

In a separate incident, Police Inspector Abdul Salam was shot dead on Quetta's Qambrani road, in what security sources claim was a target killing. Reports say that out of the five killed, three are policemen.

"The war against terrorism is not over".

No group immediately claimed responsibility for Wednesday's attack.

"Our teams are at the scene and investigating".

The truck was carrying police recruits, four of whom were killed, along with two passers-by on the city's eastern outskirts.
