PSG Chairman Subject of Criminal Investigation Over World Cup Bribery Claims

Swiss open criminal case against ex-FIFA official Valcke, beIN CEO

The proceedings are connected to an ongoing investigation into former Federation Internationale de Football Association secretary general Jerome Valcke, and relate to the sale of World Cup TV rights to BeInSports, of which Al-Khelaifi is chief executive.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the Qatari president of Paris Saint-Germain, is facing criminal proceedings in Switzerland in connection with the award of media rights for certain countries at the FIFA World Cup.

Swiss prosecutors open up criminal proceedings against PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi over alleged bribery linked to World Cup broadcast rights.

The 2018 and 2022 World Cup will be played in Russian Federation and Qatar respectively, while the 2026 and 2030 tournaments have not yet been awarded.

Swiss prosecutors said the action was carried out with Eurojust, a European Union agency for cooperation in criminal matters.

Apple is working on folding iPhone 'which could transform into an iPad'
There is rumor that Apple could bring as much as $2.6 billion in LG's new display plant, but the deal has not been finalized yet. UBS AG reaffirmed a "buy" rating and issued a $170.00 target price on shares of Apple in a research report on Monday, July 31st.

The businessman is the head of Qatari television network beIN Sports, which was awarded tournament media rights by Federation Internationale de Football Association.

While Valcke was being questioned, authorities in France, Greece, Italy and Spain searched "properties" as part of the probe, the Swiss prosecutors said.

Valcke was alleged to have received "undue advantages" from the businessman, who was not identified, to award "media rights for certain countries" for four World Cups from 2018 through 2030.

In March past year, the OAG said Valcke was suspected of criminal mismanagement and other offences.

Valcke was the right-hand man to then-FIFA president Sepp Blatter for more than eight years until a swathe of senior executives at soccer's world body were removed from office in fallout from a U.S. Department of Justice indictment revealed in May 2015.
