SC receiver Samuel out for season

Kentucky South Carolina Football

Kentucky junior LB Jordan Jones (shoulder) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against SC.

SC receiver Deebo Samuel is lost for the year after breaking his leg against Kentucky.

At the time, everyone seemed to agree that was the case, as both Muschamp and quarterback Jake Bentley addressed the need for other players to step up, and how it was a huge loss.

Samuel attempted to reenter the game, but it was clear something was wrong. Gamecocks head coach Will Muschamp said after the game that Samuel broke his leg.

"What do you think?"

Josh Rosen Makes Brutal Decision, Results In Pick-Six
After UCLA jumped out to a 17-7 lead early in the second period, Memphis rebounded with the pair of screens for scores. UCLA also has a sure-handed tight end in Caleb Wilson, giving Rosen four good options in the passing game.

The only problem? SC doesn't have a "next guy" like Samuel.

"He's going to be part of everything we do", Bentley said after the game. He had five catches for 122 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown catch to open the game. Samuel came into the weekend leading the Southeastern Conference with five touchdowns, including two kickoff return scores.

"We just have to hold them to less points", Moore said.

That's easier said than done - especially after Kentucky converted numerous critical third down plays against South Carolina's defense on Saturday night.
