An apparent suicide bomber set off a blast outside the main cricket stadium in Kabul on Wednesday, killing at least three people as a match went on inside, authorities said.

Two members of Afghan security forces have been killed in a bomb attack carried out near a cricket stadium in the capital Kabul.

According to TOLO news sources, a suicide bomber detonated explosives at a check post near the cricket stadium.

The blast reportedly took place while a game was being played, near one of the gates of the stadium, Ministry of Interior spokesman Najib Danish told CNN.

As per the reports, the attack is a case of suicide bombing and took place at 3:45 pm (local time) on Wednesday afternoon. The match was stopped immediately but it resumed later.

No group including the Taliban insurgents has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.

Both Afghanistan and Pakistan are deprived of hosting regular global cricket games due to the security problem in their countries.
