Death toll reaches 49 with 17 more missing in floods, landslides

The floods since Friday night have forced thousands of families to shift to shelters and has damaged property, livestock, cattle and crops.

At least 49 persons were killed and 17 went missing in floods and landslides triggered by the monsoon rainfall in various parts of the country in the last three days.

In the last month, at least 30 persons have died in incidents linked to rain, which is heavier during the monsoon season that is now on in South Asia.

"The latest data released by the MoHA also shows that 21 districts have been hit hard by the flash floods and landslides", The Himalayan Times reported. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, seven persons were killed in Sunsari district in southern Nepal.
