The artist delivered a sweet ending to his 24K Magic World Tour this weekend, surprising the crowd attending the sold out concert with his plans to donate to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.

Mars also issued a statement thanking the MI fans for supporting the cause.

"God bless you MI!"

Bruno Mars surprised the audience at his Auburn Hills, Michigan show last night (Saturday, August 12) by announcing a donation of $1 million for the victims of the ongoing Flint water crisis. Due to insufficient treatment an estimated more than 100,000 residents were exposed to tainted water with high levels of lead, which as been linked to an increase in Legionnaires' disease and other health issues.

The Auburn Hills show was part of Mars' 24k Magic World Tour now making its way through the Midwest.

The charity in part supports residents affected by lead-contaminated drinking water, which led to a state of emergency being declared in 2014.

"[Bruno Mars] understands the issues faced by Flint citizens, and we are touched by his concern and generosity", he continued. Rapper Big Sean and R&B superstar Beyonce are among those who have donated to the foundation.
